Alejandro Micco

Director

  • Alejandro is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Chile, a former Deputy Minister of Finance, and has a distinguished professional career.
  • He holds a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering from the University of Chile and a PhD in Economics from Harvard University.

Alejandro served as Deputy Minister of Finance during Michelle Bachelet’s second administration (2014–2018) and has worked as a senior researcher at the Inter-American Development Bank (Washington, DC) and the Central Bank of Chile.

He was the General Coordinator of Advisors and Capital Markets at the Ministry of Finance, where he contributed to pension reform, employment subsidies, and the unemployment insurance system.

His research has been published in various international journals and has been utilized in economic policy debates in Latin America and Europe.
